Well I’m up for a new handgun and I am a Glock guy but I do like the new generation of them all mine are gen 3, if I could find one not priced so high I would get a G26. So I think it’s time for something different. I like sigs and have been looking at 1911 for home defense, maybe your thoughts on what u own I’m looking at a price range $500 up to $800. Thanks

That is a good question. IMHO, it is mostly about personal preference. That said, I do prefer handguns without a manual safety for defensive use. Glocks obviously fit that bill. Personally, I am fond of the S&W M&P and the 2.0 is supposed to have a better trigger. I also love revolvers. My favorite handgun is my 6" GP100 in 357 magnum. Whenever I get around to adding another handgun, it will probably be a 1911 for a range gun.

The Springfield XD's are nice guns. They also make a nice 1911.
