Finally picked up a GP100 Wiley Clapp Edition.

Wiley Clapp Editions are all 3 inch barrels with fiber optic sights upgraded grip, polished trigger and a "melted" look to aid in concealed carry.
Keep in mind the 3 inch frame, topstrap etc is a bit lighter duty than the other GP100's to begin with so the weight is down to 36 oz.
Still kinda heavy for concealed but at least its in the realm of the possible now.

I got the "matte" stainless steel.
And now for the pics!
(The guns in circle are from left bottom, clockwise: blued 4 inch, SS Wiley Clapp, Royal Phoenix, 3 inch SS and 4 inch SS)

YEAH, very nice indeeedeeee.
I loaned My youngest boychild My Smith 357, He`s in Alaska and since he did`nt have a pistol of any kind I sent that with Him.
I bought it used, a police special of some kind, from the late 60s/early 70s, I can not fuhr the life of Me remember that model. a bit big for concealed but when thats all You have, just do the best You can. LOL

Thanks for the kind words fellas.

I kinda think of a quality wheelgun as a "forever gun".
You could put it in your attic loaded and 60 years later your great grandson may find it and use it to fight off an attack

Very nice! I have been drooling over the Wiley Clapp since it came out. A very beautiful wheel gun! Congratulations!

Very nice collection of GPs.
Would like a Wiley myself.

But really, no 6"? :)

I had a 6 inch GP 100 but I sold it.
Modern barrels are so good I am not sure the extra performance is worth the extra bulk.

"twas a beautiful gun though, especially after I replaced the Hogue Grips with the Walnut

I have been known to carry my 6" on occasion. Legal to open carry here.

I think the GP leaves room for improvement in the area of the grips. The hogue wood is ok, and the original rubber with rosewood inserts is okay, but they don't begin to approach S&W's finger groove combat grips for comfort or aesthetics.
