Here is my 870

Also have a Ender's Royal Western which is a pre WWI shotgun made by Crescent Firearms for sale in hardware stores and catalogs. It was a gun that sat on my grandfather's wall for many years, and was handed down to me when he passed away. It is the gun on the middle of the rack on the wall. There is a large bulge in the barrel from someone using modern ammo in it. So basically its just a wall ornament.

in my pictures? the red ones are the clay shooting loads and the green ones are remington slugs

Doesn't it kinda go by manufacturer? Winchester does Red and Remington does Green? So, as far as I know, their color really doesn't have any significance other than manufacturer. It could be bird shot to buck shot and still be the same color. At least so far that I've observed. Although other manufacturers use reds, green, orange, yellow, clear and on and on. I don't think a manufacturer has a patent on a color.

yeah you're right, because i've used red and blue slugs before from winchester and federal and i have a box of 00 buck with the mossberg and those shells are a dark red.
