I picked up a S&W Model 986 last week. What a great shooter this gun is.

Hand cannons that have loads already made for them seem just more practical to me. 454 will do just about anything you need. 460 and 500 will do more!!!!!! My preference would be a 6" ported barrel or larger.

They offer the .460XVR in the following barrel lengths 3 1/2", 5", 8 3/8, 10 5/8", 12" and 14" the msrp is from $1,300 - $1,600

My LGS has a one with a 10 5/8" barrel. I held that gun and to me it is barrel heavy. No matter how I held the gun the barrel seemed to always be drooping towards the ground.

All the S&W .460 come with interchangeable ports one specific for jacketed ammo and one for lead ammo.
