There are Youtube videos about flamethrowers, including
(US M2/M2A1 Flamethrower)
If a man is wearing a backpack flamethrower, what does he do with its gun-part when he needs his hands free to do something else? I thought of putting the gun part in a holster hanging from the belt of the harness, as in this CGI image, but I have never seen such a holster on a flamethrower in an image. Images seem to show that the British "Lifebuoy" flamethrower https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flamethrower,_Portable,_No_2 seems to have had a way to clip its gun part onto its backpack harness.
