Last I checked, only Congress can make laws and that is exactly what the BATFE is trying to do.

If this were strictly applied to pre-programmed CNC machines, they would have a pretty good argument but beyond that, they have definitely overstepped their authority.

ATF isn't the only problem. Gov't agencies pretty much run amuck in creating and modifying regulations as they see fit.
It's no longer a matter of what is done, now it's outlawing what could be done

BLM constantly changes land use rules taking public land out of use for certain activities such as Off Highway Vehicles.

NHSTA is constantly skirting rules making motorcycle only checkpoints in spite of local/state laws prohibiting them.

The real issue is that our "nation of laws" has become a "nation of bureacrats" and the complex, bloated, and unwieldy government obscures the incremental lose of little freedoms.

Each one is just a little mosquito bite; but each drains a little more blood out of the veins of liberty
