I went with the Barrett MRAD today. Got a Barrett but in round more usefull for my purposes. 100 to 1500 yards all day. Also got Scar 17 & Beretta 92 to save on dros! HA HA HA Merry Christmas to me

There's nowhere close to where i live where i'd ever really stretch the gun out. Maybe the 338 would be better option? The MRad pretty cool and the 338 lapua is a great round. 1/2 the price of M82

Your standard AR 15 is a great gun for 10 feet to 500 yards. 223 is cheeper & lighter then 308 but won't punch thru much. An Bushmaster ACR is also a great platform & if you want something trick check out FN S2000 bullpup.

The gun is only in the night stand area when i'm in bed, other wise i carry or if at home in place i can get to ASAP but out of site and reach of any kids. It sounds like we have same plan as far as placement.
