Good one tscott. Tip #3 would probably have to be if you've got a high power scope turn it waaay down. Because if they pop outta no where at 50 yards your already turned down and don't have to waste the movement or time. If they are far away then you should have time to turn it up.

Tip #1 set up is crucial. Set up cross ways or facing the wind with good shooting lanes into the down wind. The sun can also be a huge deal if your trying to look into it. And don't forget to conceal yourself(camo, landscape, etc).
