What Model/what configuration is that revolver?

Hello everyone

The attachment are two screenshots from the trailer for the new "Kick-Ass"-Film.
They shows a revolver, which's Maker/Model/Configuration I try to find out.
The quality is quite bad, but I couldn't get a better one legally.
Friend guessed it to be a Smith & Wesson 629, but even if that's right there is a whole lot of configurations it can be.
I don't know how much you can see on that pic, but I'm thankful for every information.

Thanks,
Max

Yeah, it looks like a S&W but I wonder what the story is with that huge underlug?

I read that these wheights under the barrel are supposed to reduce recoil.
That one on the prop might me a bit "Hollywood sized", but reduced recoil is a helpful improvement if a 15 year old girl is supposed to use that pistol.

S&W frame with a bull barrel. Not a 629. Appears to be a .38/.357 based on the size of the cylinder. The purpose is to reduce/control recoil for competition shooting.
