Storage in a Pelican Case?

I bought the wife a new LC9 for Christmas and a pelican case for storage/transport. What is the consensus on storing the pistol in the case for long term. Granted, long term at the moment will be at most two/three week but what about if I wanted to store it for a year+?

Long term, I would not. Too easy for a thief to steal and no dehumidifier.

Better then nothing but easily broken into. You can always put a desiccant pack in it for moisture control...

I only use my Pelican case when transporting through airports, otherwise I'm carrying or its locked up in a safe at home. There are many inexpensive safes you can buy for handguns.

That's great! I just placed a huge order for ammo the other day. That, and the cases of shotgun ammo I have sitting in the safe, should take care of everybody nicely.:beer:

Did the original poster ever get his question answered? If I was going to story it for a year or more in the case I would rap it in a rag, and then place in case.

I keep 1 gun in long storage, I keep it in original case that came with gun.. I take it out every now and then and wipe it down and give it some love....Concealed 27

How do y'all like shooting the LC9? I am thinking of getting one for my wife for her to carry and to keep on her night stand at night. She loves shooting our S&W M&P 9.
