Snakes

I'm around snakes all the time in the oil field. They will go about their own business if left alone. I had a 2 ft diamondback laying right at a lease gate yesterday,I just moved him with a stick, and it crawled off into the grass.
Snakes serve a great purpose keeping rodent numbers in check, and they will only strike at humans when they fear of being harmed.
Glad that toddler wasn't hurt too bad,pit viper venom is some bad stuff.

Wow, amazing the snake didn't give the kid a full dose. How do you explain that the snake "took it easy" on the kid?

Rattlesnakes will give a dry bite after having used venom or as a warning strike.
