Recomend a scope for my AR-10.

I've been on the fence so I come to you guys. I'm looking for something in the 4-10 or 15X range, illuminated cross hairs preferred but not necessary. Budget is $1000 or less.

Any ideas?

I've got one of these on a FNAR. Nice scope for the $$$. I know they say to put as much into the glass as you do the gun but I just can't do it. I just can't bring myself to do that.
