Pistol Scopes or Red Dots?

Getting ready for deer season. I just decided to change the sites on my Blackhawk. What do you guys like, Scopes or red dots?
I went from dot to a Burris scope. I might have to go back if I find the new set up does not work in the woods.

I don't think that would be practical. However, on a rifle, you can have a holosight and a flip away magnifier.

I have a Leupold 2X on my hunting handgun. Has worked well for me out to 100 yards.

Red dot on my Buckmark makes me feel like a twenty year old when shooting comps.

I use a red dot on my plr-22, but I never plink past 40 yards or so to see any benefit of magnification. I just use open sites on my carry pistol (pf9). Don't do any pistol hunting
