Picked up a 50 Beowulf

Just picked up a 5o Beowulf this weekend. It included an older EOtech and 120 rds plus rerlaoding dies and 50 cases plus 350 projetciles.
It also comes with a VERY NICE aftermarket pistol grip.

So I felt I was getting a lot of value especially since I didn't pay a crazy price.

I will likely attach a VFG as well to manage the recoil.

Also found some Ammo for only $1.5 a round and ordered a 100. This i think is quite fair as quality 5.56 these days often costs a Buck a round.. And a50 Beowulf is a LOT more bullet.

I will likely pre zero the sight on another AR using regular Ammo then attach the EoTech on the same spot on the picatinny. I expect this will get me close. Then I will finish zero on this gun

At short to medium ranges the ballistics will not be crazy different especially since a bullet like this will only be shot a big things, like rampaging water buffalo, aliens or such.

Ok now for the gun porn:

I think the bullets and case thickness are based on the 50 AE and the case lenghted.
but higher grain bullets of course can be loaded in 50 beowulf but ther eis overlap.

That is my (tenous) understanding and i am willing to stand corrected

I like it! :hmm:..............looks pricey

I bought the gun used at what the current going rate for a good used AR is.
Since it came with so much extra stuff and even an older EoTech I feel I got a pretty good deal.:)

I might put irons on this gun and use the EOtech for another rifle.
Figure this will likely only be shot at large targets.

Tried to put, Magpul flip up sight son the gun today.
Seems the amount of picatinny in the front is too short to support a Magpul flip-up :(

guess I will have to rely on the ancient Eotech that's on the Gun (build year 2000)

A guy owes we still a pair of Ruger Troys from a seperate transaction that I think my fit due to their shorter base but still havent gotten those

Today I put a Magpul VFG on it to help me manage the recoil which I am expecting to be substantial

My local indoor range said they'd let me shoot it which really surpised me.
One of them said they just want to see how it sounds like.

As soon as my eye is fully healed I will shoot there,
maybe in a couple of weeks.
