Build an actual 22lr AR or just get an M&P 15-22? The M&P is the cheaper and simpler option but is a 22 on an actual AR platform worth the difference?

Thats a ood question.

I do not think a off the rack 15-22 has the QC that a 223/5.56 unit has which is exposed t much greater stresses.

Of course another solution is to get a conversion kit (bolt etc) for one of your pre exisitng ARs
