.45 Auto to 9mm Luger Difference in Recoil?

Hello everyone

I know I'm starting to go on you guys nerves by now, so this is the last question for now.
And it's once again for my novel.oker:

In the book, the main character uses a H&K USP in .45 for most of the time.
But now she switches to a SIG P226R, and I want (her) to describe the difference.

Now, I know that .45 produces more recoil than a 9mm Luger, but I also know that the USP is fitted with some sort of a spring-mechanism to reduce recoil.
Does anyone know if there is that much of a difference (if the USP "kicks" that much harder)?

To me the 9mm looks much more controllable. As I would expect.
