You are looking at it backwards. This is like 51% of the people in California voting to completely ban the private ownership of firearms and the Supreme Court declaring that the citizens can indeed be armed. That is pretty much what just happened in Illinois to allow concealed carry.

I agree, government needs to stay out of it. Use to be a couple could solidify their fidelity buy jumping over a broom handle together. No marriage license, no preacher. Just the witness of a community.

If two guys or two girls want to do that together then great. More power to them. And if they qualify to adopt a child that's OK in my book too. I'd rather see a child happy in a same sex marriage home then in a foster home or orphanage or a home where they're being abused.

Wow, you guys have been busy today.

I don't see "gay pride" parades being any different from civil rights parades and rallies in the 60s, or women's sufferage protests before that. I think that in 20 years we will look back at this issue the same way.

The comments about marrying chickens is just silly.
