The U.S. Army has kept a presence in Kuwait since the supposed end of the Iraq war in 2011. Ongoing training missions with allies including the UAE and Jordan as well as other allies are ongoing. Training for deployment takes months and includes combat training as well as humanitarian relief.
In February, DOD announced that more than 4,000 soldiers in the largest U.S. ground force , equipped with tanks and Bradley Fighting Vehicles from Fort Carson were headed to Kuwait and more recently announced that more would be deployed. Deployments are ongoing, some in smaller numbers, such as the 50 Army troops are being deployed from Hawaii to Kuwait this month in an ongoing support of Operation Resolve in ongoing deployments to Iraq from various locations.
