Anyone ever see the 1980 movie "Final Countdown"? A modern aircraft carrier goes through a time portal and ends up back to 1941. That's my theory. The 777 is in another era. Past? Future? Who could know?

Lets think about that for a moment. An airliner is basically an air filled tube. In order for it to sink it would have to have the hull breached somehow. If the hull was breached wouldn't there be some floating evidence (debris) to be found? If the plane had hit softly enough not to break up, I'd think it would have floated like the Hudson (corrected) river landing. But if it hit hard enough to sink, wouldn't there be floating bits and pieces?
