Remington 700 Unexpected Dishcharges to Common

Just in case some are not aware, here's some info you need to know. Not only if you own one, but if you're around anyone who has one of these rifles.

I was not aware of this til I started doing searches for a .270 Remington 700 I intend to buy. I'm still buying it of course.

It appears Remington has got on board with a fix, retrofit or repair, but if you know of anyone that has one of these rifles, make sure they got it taken care of, or keep their trigger mechanism clean.

Ignore the idiot that says, "How can you point a firearm in a safe direction if you don't know when it's going to go off" Deeta Dee, :favorites68:

You don't maintain your car... things like brakes, PEOPLE DIE. So do we sue and blame, GM, FORD and Chrysler?

Just saying people, be aware the issue exists and tell all you know who owns one about it.

Almost any weapon with an adjustable trigger can become "Dangerous" when adjusted too lite by someone that doesn't understand how the trigger components work together.

Unless you are very familiar with working on triggers, you should leave it to a gunsmith to adjust.

Most of the problems that came from the Remington 700 were caused by inexperienced gun owners " Tuning their own triggers",or from older rifles that had worn parts in the trigger assembly.
