This happened just this morning, and is funny and punny:
Two men armed with a vacuum were arrested after police say they failed to make a clean getaway.
Just after 4:30 a.m. Wednesday, an officer spotted two men acting suspiciously at a car wash. The men were using black electrical tape change their license plate number. The officer spotted the altered plate and pulled them over.
Inside the vehicle he found a vacuum and a power inverter. But rather than cleaning their floor mats, investigators believe the men hooked the vacuum up to the coin dispensing machines at the car wash and tried to suck money out of it.
Todd Herburg, 53, and Scott Luker, 55, were arrested for investigation of burglary.
One would think that at their age, they should know better :rofl:
UPDATE: Sgt. Gary Young of the Cottonwood Heights PD: "More often thieves just use a crowbar. They get an A for effort but an F for execution." While the CHPD has not counted the quarters yet, they estimate the haul to less then $30.
