Need help picking ammo

Trying to figure what would be best for the rifle I'm putting together. It's 300 blackout, 10.5" barrel in 1-8 twist. For now it will be unsuppressed. Found a decent deal on PNW arms 147 grain but I'm not sure if I should go with a lighter grain for now. This will be just for plinking and getting a feel for the gun. Any help is appreciated

I am not familar with the 300. What I typically do with a new firearm is buy a variety of ammo in different bullet weights and let the gun show me what it likes.

+1 on trying out different ammo types and manufacturers.

If somebody has experience with the same kind of weapon, I'll be sure to try out their recs, but I still test it myself & don't just take their word for it. Each weapon can be a touch different.

Thanks for the advice guys. I may pick up some of the ammo I listed in the OP since I found a deal on some. Then I'll try and find some Remington 115 grain later (hard to find right now). I have time since I'm still waiting on my tax stamp anyway
