Maybe they shouldn't have rated the USP as an 9mm only gun (which it clearly isn't).

I agree with the 1911 and Browning Hi-Power. I would have made the Glock the model 19 the .22lr a Ruger MK. The H&K if it made my list would be a P7 and Springfield would never be on my list.

The CZ75 would make mine list also but the Sig would be a P228 and the Beretta would never be on my list either.

I own the XDs and I have to say that I am very pleased with the XD frame, and I have fired the XD 5.25 .40 and that is a really nice weapon. I don't own a Colt 1911, but I do have a Springfield . . . that's close enough right.

We could debate this one until the age of ray-guns dawns....but what the heck, I'll play.

Not sure if I would have the S+W, USP on the list.
Off the top of my hairy head, I would go something like this.

10-6 (Too difficult to grade precisely while I eat supper)
>Berretta M9, >Ruger Mk series of .22s (MkII is you force my hand)
> Luger P-08 >Sig 226 >Walther PPK

5. CZ-75 =I'm biased here but the fact remains that it is a damn good pistol
4. Walther P-38 =Pioneered the double action service auto.
3. Glock 17 = We can debate the innovation inside this pistol, but the fact remains that it ushered in the new age of service pistols. Love it or hate it, it's a world class handgun.
2. Browning High-Power (P-35) =fielded by more armies that any other auto-loading handgun in history.
1. Colt M1911 =While I'm not a huge fan, I gotta give props to the king.

Interesting list.

The 1911 was a no brainer.
So was the Hi Power.
I was a bit surpised at the P38 because the P08 Luger was an almost equal ( albeit more expensive to make) design that predated it 30 years. And it pioneered the 9mm round.

It would be interesting to see how many pistols have been produced and are owned .1911 and luner have been around from the early 1900's . Just on being avalible makes owning one possible. Glock has I suspect has got a good start on the amount of guns in our hands. My favorite would be the G23 and soon the g3os.
