I bought a 9ve when they first came out, I beleive it was 2003-04. I had more failure to feeds in one range session than any of my glocks ever. Ive seen them go way down in price, $349 last shop I was in..

C27, so yours was a SW40VE then right? The model that's out now is the SD40ve and SD9ve. They are $299.99 at Academy and the cheapest I've seen. I fully intend to get one. Can't beat the price for a Poly Frame Gun. I'm just stuck with , do I want the 9 or the 40? Normally I'd go for the .40, but I"m thinking cheap gun, I want to shoot cheap ammo too. That's kind of the purpose for it, is CHEAP. When a Taurus Millenium Series is $379, I'll take the S&W for $80 less anyday of the week. Not a Taurus fan at all. I HAD 2. A buddy did have a SW9VE, not an issue one with it and he said he shot all the ammo thru it, from cheap, foreign, domestic and all and never a problem.

I did look for reviews hoping to find something bad and didn't find anything bad other than complaints on the heavy 8lb trigger.

My purpose for cheaper is to have a sidearm when I'm ATV riding. We did have a family member lose a gun while trail riding before on my dad's property. Luckily it did get found along side the trail about a year later. It had laid out in the weather for year.

Well, like Gaston himself, Mr. Barrett sure knows how to market his product.

I've seen more gun forum discussion over the title of the book in the last year than I have any other book.

Yes it was th SWve...First trip to the range it failed 4 times on a Hi cap Mag.
Went to dealer and he said it was the mag spring tension and gave me a new one..Went to shoot the next day it ran a little better. For another $100 bucks I would go with the S&W Shield....Single stack 9 or 40...JMHO

I think if I was to spend another $100, I'd go with a Sig 250. And $200 then I'd just go Glock. I am hoping to get a Glock 21 before the Ban if possible. My next Glock was going to be a G27, but I figure I can buy that AFTER the ban hits, if it does, since it's a 9 rounder. So yeah, this BS has changed my plans around. I was just hoping to get a cheaper hi cap ACP prolly in a 9, and another Higher Cap Glock before it hits.

Gaston new whats up Period.....

Trust me, I won't expect it to perform or take the place of my Glock. And I will for certain have to do a trigger job on it, and even with the trigger job, it's not going to perform like a Glock, but for the price, if it's dependable and reliable I intend to get one. There are times, where I prefer not to carry my Glock, but I don't want to be left without anything either. Those will be the times I carry the Smith.
I have an exact purpose in mind for the Smith. Still keeping it safe and locked up, but it won't be at my home. For security reasons, I'd prefer not to say publicly.
