A bit off topic but. I've been trying to figure out when the tides turned and we became peasants to our government. Maybe it was the depression. When the government came to the rescue with food lines and handouts. Was this the first step toward dependence for many on our government? What was first thought to be benevolence ended up being a trap. What the government gives, it can take away. The trick is not to get in line in the first place (if at all possible).

But anyhow, I was just thinking to myself when the government started to become our ruler instead of our employee and think that they can pull this crap with any fear of persecution. Am I totally off the mark?
