To motorcyclist, the 3%ers have a different connotation. It's the 3% of bikers that are affiliated with gangs and outlaw activity. (often also referred to as 1 percenter, depending on who you ask)

I always thought that in the motorcycle world it was the 1%er.

Like I said, depending on who you ask. Most folks say 1 percenter, but I've heard the 3% thing from time to time also.

Back to the revolution. 3% was probably pretty close to the number that actually fought. The percentage of sympathizers, supporters, consorts was probably higher. Remember that not everyone can fight directly.
Also, the American Revolution was an insurgency. We didn't have to hold ground or conquer anything. We just had to keep fighting and make it too expensive for the British to keep fighting. It's not always about winning, much of the time it's simply about outlasting the enemy.
History just keeps repeating itself.

Sometimes being a slave to the wife ain't such a bad thing.

He says just after coming in from finally getting the last Christmas decorations down, filling the bird feeders and cutting down a tree that the MIL kept confusing for a person in the back yard. Oh wells, hopefully I'll be able to cash in my brownie points later.
