Amsec BF electrical access

Anybody have experience with the electrical access hole on an Amsec BF safe? I have a 7240 and I see the hole on the back of the safe, but I can't find where it comes out inside the safe, and I can't feed a cord through it - it goes in about an inch or 2 and stops.

Does it go straight in, or is there a channel it follows?

If it goes straight in, then it's just covered by the carpet trim inside. I don't feel a hole under the carpet, and just wanted to check before I cut a hole in it.

You'd think it would be, but it's not. The FAQs are all about electronic locks
