New York cracking down on toy gun sales

Major retailers are illegally selling prohibited toy guns online, the N.Y Attorney General's office alleged Thursday.

Eric Schneiderman's office sent cease and desist letters to the retailers (Wal-Mart, Amazon.com, K-Mart, Sears and ToyArsenal.com) to halt sales of these toy guns to New Yorkers immediately. One K-Mart also sold these guns in a Rochester, New York, location, the office alleged.

"Once this matter was brought to our attention we placed a shipping block on our website to prevent the mentioned items from being sent to the state of New York. We're also confident that measures are in place to prevent these items from being sold at our New York stores," Wal-Mart said in a statement.

"The safety of our customers is a top priority. We are in the process of immediately removing any non-compliant toy guns that are offered for sale by Sears or Kmart to New York consumers. We will fully cooperate with the New York Attorney General in its investigation," Sears said in a statement.

New York state law prohibits retailers from selling guns in realistic colors unless it has one-inch-wide orange stripe running down both sides of the barrel and the front end of the barrel that cannot be removed.

When I was growing up....nowadays it be considered a terrorist weapon.

I am afraid it won't stop until every gun is taken away and our young youths of today are sedated and brainwashed in believing that guns are tools of the devil and if you are even thinking of owning a toy gun you will be sent to a mental hospital for observation and treatment.

On a different note I found one of those M-16 Marauders up for auction..$595.00..holy cow in collectibles these days.

That's pretty much how things are looking in Germany.
I mean, I own an airsoft, and some people (including some family-members) conclude Airsoft-Owner->soon-to-be serial killer.
And that in a country that makes rather good guns.

By the way, has anyone ever thought about the risk of bad people painting the muzzles of real guns orange so they can pretend that they're only toys, carrying them to places real guns can get (and doing ugly/bad things there)?

Sorry to hear Max on the passing of your grandfather. I am sure I wouldn't even recognize Germany anymore..last time I was stationed there was 1975-77 at Wiesbaden and Sembach. I can still remember seeing bomb craters from WWII when I first arrived and only some thirty years earlier we were still fighting the nazis, while Hitler was in his Berlin bunker issuing orders to a spent army. I agree Germans make some of the best guns around.

The insanity of the New York "tyrants" is getting out of hand and it is more and more evident to me that we are swirling the drain towards armed conflict. These days its becoming more and more scary out there and I don't think I want to be a part of the coming future. Its not looking that bright.

I think you mean gotten instead of getting.

Nope I mean getting . . . because it is going to get a lot worse than it is now and it will spread. Until the morons like Gluttenberg and Fienkenstein go bye bye, things will get worse, way worse.

Sadly, I agree about it getting even worse but it is already out of hand.
