Yes Max Velocity Tactical in WV.
The primary Instructor also wrote the book 'Contact!" which is a Small unit Tactics Handbook for civilians in SHTF.

A lot of stuff from the military FM's thats not applicable or even misdirected is fixed for the armed civilian in SHTF.

Plus the entire 1st third of the book is him answering questions that people email in on different subjects

have you read "Contact" and if so, what do you think of it?

I read it and bought 2 extra copies for my friends :)

The blue tape on the magazine sis is safety measure during the patrol to denote unloaded magazines so they dont shoot any OPFOR.

The rest of the class where no OPFOR was present was loaded mags.

This is a view directly form the front of the ambush.

You may not notice them but you are standing in front of students and their rifles getting ready t react to pop up targets and execute the ambush

Glad to see the snow gone. Everybody us AR's?

Most guys do.
But we usually have at least one guy per class show up with an AK.
The ergonomics of the AK are not as good as an AR so its harder/slower for those guys to switch the safety on when they bound.

We had a 71 yr old Korean War vet with a Garand one time.

He was surprisingly agile and did well.
But his 8 rds clip made it harder for him to supply suppressive fire for hs buddy when he bounded.

All in all there are many reasons for a serious tactical dude to stick with AR:

- Its most common so u and your buddy cna toss each other mags in a firefight to crossload
- Since its so common dead enemy can be a resupply point

(usually our classes range from 17-60, the older dudes of course exercise as much as they can for 2-3 months to get ready before they come.
When they dont its a problem.

We had older dudes be VERY successful before but last weekend we had a 73yr old guy who didnt prepare at all and it was a problem.
He had to sit a lot of stuff out.

When you do this kind of stuff you can see 20 yr olds out of breath too.

However anaerobic capacity is just as important if not more so than aerobic ( cardio) capacity.. and you lose anaerobic capacity at a lesser rate than aerobic with ageing... I once read anaerobic peaks in males in the early 40's.(!) not sure if its true . But we have had a number of 40 somethings who do better than some 20 yr old soldiers that I have seen.

This is serious training.
All pics are non staged and show real students learning ( hence some intervals are off etc)

War is not for the old and it makes the young old before their time. Looks like you all need to load up and head for Nevada.
