Disney is live streaming their Independence Day fireworks celebration. So we're all plugged up an waiting for it to start. Not going out to fight the heat, crowds and bugs but I hope y'all enjoy your fireworks displays this evening no matter how you see them.

Well that didn't work. Big snafu on Disney's part. I was on the page where it said you could view them but kept getting errors. Come to find out they used Youtube to live stream the show. Only the website didn't say that. Many, many people flooding their Facebook page with negative comments. Hope they rebroadcast it so we can see them eventually.

Switched over the Washington DC fireworks on PBS. It seemed a lot shorter than years past. They have a new host instead of Gary Sinis who was the host the past couple of years. Barry Manilow sang a few songs as well a couple other groups.

One of my most memorable July 4th was when we had our Bicentiennial celebration back in 1976. At the time I was stationed at Sembach AB, West Germany (Berlin Wall was still up) and about ten of us headed to the base commissary and almost raided the place...we grab steaks, corn on the cob, salads, couple bags of charcoal, a couple cases of German beer and some Jim Beam and a football and headed down by the lower part of the base which had tables and bbg grills and we partied and played football until the fireworks show started that night. Still think about that moment every time the 4th rolls around and still can remember all of their names and where they came from. Just a bunch of great guys who served their country well..Happy Fourth everyone!
