A USA flamethrower variant

I saw a UK TV program about things found in abandoned hired lockup storages, and one of them contained kit apparently used for fighting forest fires, including a USA uniform badge.

One item was a USA army type flamethrower with the 3 backpack tanks. Normally the flame gun ends straight forwards, but in that example the flame nozzle tube bent up, then curved over and down in an arc of a circle, ending at an angle downwards; and the pilot light nozzle continued straight and aimed into the main flame. It looked like a forest firefighter's variant used for backburning.
