    Mexican shootout leaves 40 dead

These are the news stories that the "my drug use doesn't hurt anyone" crowd needs to understand. If you use narcotics you are complicent in every murder, assassination, extortion, bribe that the cartels commit. You not only have a hash pipe in your hands, but you have blood all over them as...

    Glocks

Good point. The fact that Glock is, by far, the most popular pistol with police forces has a lot to do with the number of negligent discharges involving Gaston's pistols. Could we say that the P-08 Luger must be really safe since it's never involved when a cop shoots himself in the foot??:)

    Funny Pics

I agree with the above posts, and in no way am excusing people not taking responsibility for their health. But the truth is that much of the obesity problem is because of industrialized food in this country. When it is cheaper to buy a box of artificial food type product than it is to buy a...

Surplus weapons being scaled back to police

Read about this earlier today. To me it's good news. As SRT said, the militarization of police has gone way too far. Why the F does a police department need a friggn MRAP???

9 dead in Waco biker shootout

I won't lose any sleep over the dead gang members. Live by the sword, die by the sword. I do feel bad for the innocents, especially the children, that had to witness it. Seeing someone die violently is not something a kid should have to see. As for Sturgis, the Black Hills Rally is mostly...

    Glocks

Isn't that true of any firearm?... or pretty much anything for that matter. Poor training can result in motorcycle crashes, car accidents, falling off roofs, cuts while shaving, hang nails, etc. If there is a problem, I would say it is more with the design of some retention holsters that place...

How do you store/display your guns?

All but two of my guns are stored in the safe. One is my defense gun and the other is my Hawken rifle that hangs on the wall in by back room.

    H&K G36 really that bad?

M60 gunners only needed a glove because the idiots designing the M60 didn't know enough to put a damn handle on the quick change barrel. And then they attached the bipod to the barrel so the poor gunner had to hold the whole thing out of the mud while the AG swapped barrels. As for the squad...

    Trip to gun store.

If the shop you are in is asking $550 for an XDS, you may need to find a different place to shop:boxed:

    H&K G36 really that bad?

Palmerwmd pretty much summed it up. Although the G36 appears to be a "space age gun" the internals are actually quite conventional. But as with most designs, the rifle will have some teething problems to be worked out after implementation reveals areas of improvement.

IMI Tavor - Actually "around" or rare and exotic?

I would say they are still uncommon in the US, but I have seen them at shops and gunshows so they are not too rare.

CZ Kadet kit on the way!!

Yeah, the mags are 10 round capacity. I think one factor with .22 ammo is the rim; as the bullets are stacked, they tend to "bend" forward which would make the magazine need to have a curve (think of high-cap 10/22 mags)which would be difficult in a handgun grip. I also need to figure out how...

CZ Kadet kit on the way!!

I put another 300 rounds through the Kadet today...this is quickly becoming my favorite pistol. To be honest, the first few times I shot it, I was unimpressed. The magazines were hard to load and I had a few reliability issues with it. I soon found a trick to loading the mags without so much...

    I'm becoming a CZ fan.

I've owned a CZ75b for many years. Sometimes I wish it was a 9mm version instead of .40 (just for the cheaper ammo) I replaced the extractor spring and recoil spring a few years back to make it more reliable with cheaper ammo. The new Scorpion has been tempting me as of late...would make an...

Found something that could be ammunition, can someone ID?

From left to right. All appear to be copper jacketed lead core bullets. The first 2 on the left are rifle bullets. They look to be around 7-8mm, which means they could be for many different cartridges since that is a popular range of caliber. 1. The first is a round nose and appears to have a...

    RV's - Who has em'

SRT- I wasn't so much poking fun at you as I was [oking fun at myself and my budget. I can definately see the allure of RVing. Stopping when and wherever you want and having most, if not all, the comforts of home. I can't think of a better way to travel...just wish I could pull one behind the...

My "RV" rolls up into a pack about 20" long and 8" in diameter. Although I have gotten a bit soft and bought a Thermarest pad for under the sleeping bag.:)
