Does less-lethal rifle/pistol-ammunition exist?

Hello everyone

I know that there are less-lethal "beanbag"-rounds for shotguns.
But do less lethal rounds also exist for rifles or pistols, or do they only exist for shotguns?

Thanks in advance,

Max

Sure bird shot instead of buck shot . Computer crashed and at best buy getting gutted.

There also use to be something called Rock Salt. Have to see if that's still available. Apparently it would break the skin and then burn like fire but not kill you but you'd wish you were dead. Not really. Read this. You've got to be almost point blank range for it to do anything according to this article.

And they use to have rubber bullets for guns. Not sure what calibers they were available in. But they would put a stinging on you too.

Why would you want such for a PISTOL especially?!

It's for a book project, and before I make them up I wondered if it exists.
In the book they try to slow down (but not kill) a guy from a few hundred yards away, clearly out of range for any shotgun.

You shooting at me from a few 100yards would not slow me down. make me move faster!
